Jostein Opdahl-Jenssen Managing Associate Advokat

Jostein advises Norwegian and international clients on employment law, personnel security and data privacy in the workplace. He has broad experience in personnel matters, dismissals and workforce reductions, transfers of undertakings, working time, and the use of agency workers and independent contractors. Jostein has particular expertise in dispute resolution, whistleblowing and investigation matters, personnel security and the management of insider threats. He also advises on employment related data privacy , including access to employees' email accounts and monitoring of IT systems.

Jostein works across a range of industries, including energy, shipping and other maritime industries, food production and financial services. He regularly advises on workforce reductions, individual dismissals and disputes before the Norwegian courts, including cases concerning dismissals, bonus claims, breaches of loyalty and competing business activities. Jostein has led Thommessen's team in several major whistleblowing matters, including matters with cross-border elements. He also advises companies on personnel security and the management of insider threats, including in connection with internal policies and security measures. He regularly assists with the employment law aspects of transactions.
