Thommessen adds three new partners

With three internal partner promotions, we strengthen our expertise in Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger.

We are proud to present Ole Christoffer Ellingsen, Wenche Sædal and Lars Martin Sveen as new Thommessen partners from 1 January 2022.

- We are extremely pleased to appoint three leading commercial lawyers as new Thommesen partners from January. They are all well-liked team players with cutting-edge expertise in their respective fields, says Managing Partner Sverre Tyrhaug.

Ole Christoffer Ellingsen has been with Thommessen's renewable energy and infrastructure department since 2011. He has extensive experience with project development and regulatory advise, litigation and transactions within renewable energy and infrastructure, power intensive industries and real estate. In addition, Ole Christoffer has extensive experience with matters concerning critical infrastructure, particularly licensing and administrative law, expropriation cases and general legal framework for various categories of infrastructure within the renewable space. Ole Christoffer has played an important role in establishing our new Stavanger office, and will from January become our fifth partner Stavanger. Here he will continue to assist our clients on matters concerning renewable energy and real estate.

Wenche Sædal was employed by the Norwegian Competition Authority for three years before joining Thommessen and our department for EU / EEA and competition law in 2012. Over the years, she has been involved in a number of competition law investigations and major mergers and acquisitions. Wenche has particularly excelled in the area of public procurement. She assists both public contracting authorities and suppliers with procurement law issues, as well as complaints and disputes before the courts / KOFA. She has particular experience with procurements within the supply sector (energy, railways, etc.) and the construction sector. Wenche is part of Thommessen's sustainability and climate risk practice group, and advices on sustainable procurements. Furthermore, she is a widely used speaker and was earlier this year selected as the clients' preferred legal advisor in Norway within public contracts in Lexology's "Client Choice Awards". Wenche works at our Bergen office, but is in Oslo on a regular basis and works with clients from all over the country.

Lars Martin Sveen has been with Thommessen's M&A department since 2012. He has assisted on numerous M&A and capital markets transactions and is a key member of our market leading transaction practice. Recent transactions Lars Martin has assisted on is among others Aker Horizons and Aker Carbon Capture’s private placements, the acquisition and public offering of NattoPharma, the sale of XPLORA Mobile and a large number of Euronext Growth listings. In addition, Lars Martin has experience from working as an in-house lawyer at Aker Solutions. The past year he has assisted with the establishment of our new Stavanger office. As a partner he will be a part of our team in Oslo, but still work closely with Stavanger clients. The Legal 500 named Lars Martin "Key Lawyer, Capital Markets" in its 2021 rating.
