Financing the CCS value chain — the role of carbon dioxide removals in decarbonisation

CCS CDR
- , Thommessen's office in VIA, Ruseløkkveien 38, Oslo, 12th floor, Oslo

If you are developing or financing CCS projects, or plan to do so, clarity around the legal and financial treatment of carbon dioxide removals (CDRs) can open new opportunities and potentially unlock final investment decisions for crucial climate projects. In this seminar, we explore how CDRs can strengthen the business case, attract investors and support risk management across the CCS value chain.

You will gain insight into:

  • The legal status of CDRs and how it affects contracts and risk allocation
  • Investor and bank perspectives on CDRs as tradable assets and ESG tools
  • Links between CDRs, financial instruments and public funding
  • First-hand experiences from key players in the CCS and CDR landscape

The programme includes expert presentations and a panel discussion on what is needed to scale CCS. You will also have opportunities to connect with legal and industry professionals with an interest in CCS and carbon removal.

The seminar is aimed at project developers, investors, legal advisers, consultants, banks, corporate representatives and policymakers within the field.
