Jørgen Keiserud Managing Associate Advokat

Jorgen works mainly with financial regulatory issues and assists banks and other financial institutions with issues related to especially Norwegian financial legislation, first and foremost the Financial Undertakings Act. With his 10 year background from the Secretariat of the Banking Law Commission, Jorgen has in particular developed high expertise within the rules of the Financial Institutions Act relating to capital and solvency requirements for banks and insurance companies (CRD IV/CRR and Solvency II), crisis management of banks and larger investment firms (BRRD) and deposit guarantee schemes for banks ( DGSD). This - in addition to writing commentaries to several Norwegian laws within the financial field - has given Jorgen a good basis for providing assistance in licensing and supervisory issues that may arise under normal business circumstances or when changing or expanding the business profile, in addition to assist in Due Diligence processes with a focus on financial regulatory matters.

Jorgen has an LL.M. from Columbia Law School with a particular focus on regulation of financial institutions, and has in this relation gained good understanding and insight concerning certain financial regulatory conditions relevant for US banks, but also financial regulatory issues that may arise in a cross-border context.

In addition, Jorgen has contributed to preparing a proposal for new rules concerning crisis management of insurance and pension companies in Norway, and has gained good insight into the issues that may arise in that context. With his background from the Banking Law Commission, Jorgen has also good knowledge of the various pension schemes in especially the private sector.

With his background as a manager for several Norwegian artists (including himself as a musician and record company owner) and by attending courses within contract law and copyright law as a part of his LL.M. from Columbia Law School, Jorgen also has a good understanding and insight when it comes to providing assistance to Norwegian artists and companies within the music and entertainment industry especially within drafting contracts and negotiations.
