Thommessen has assisted as special Norwegian counsel to Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. as agent on behalf of an investor syndicate group (comprising Munich Re group, the Austrian insurance company UNIQA and another European insurance group) in the financing of the new Gravdal (63 MW) and Skinansfjellet (76 MW) wind farms in Norway. The financing has been jointly structured by the German renewable asset manager Luxcara and MEAG.
The Gravdal and Skinansfjellet projects are owned and structured by Luxcara, and are part of Luxcara's Bjerkreim cluster of wind farms in Rogaland. As in the previous Eikeland-Steinsland project, the financing is based on long-term power purchase agreements with Facebook.
When completed in late 2019, the Bjerkreim cluster will have a total output capacity of 294 MW.
The Thommessen team in Oslo was led by banking partner Ellen Teresa Heyerdahl and renewables-partner Jens Naas-Bibow, and included associates Pernille Engstrøm Skaug, Ole Nikolai Hemnes and Ole Christoffer Ellingsen.
